Rcx, Inc. began in 1995 as R C eXcavating, a sole proprietorship owned by Randy and Gail Cochran. In 2003, Tom Swegle joined the company as a partner which then became RCX, Inc. Since that time, the company has expanded to competently achieve the goals of their client base. The testimonials page provides a few references as to client satisfaction.

Located in Santa Rosa, CA, RCX, Inc. provides services in all facets of General Engineering construction, including but not limited to:

• Grading (building pads, driveway installation or repair)
• Paving (parking lots, driveways)
• Earthwork (custom residential, commercial lots, wineries, vineyards)
• Underground utilities (water, sewer)
• Septic and Mound systems
• Pond Construction & Repair (irrigation ponds, retention ponds)

RCX has a strong management team based on three owners. The founder, Randy Cochran, has more than twenty five years in the construction industry. Randy started in the industry driving truck hauling aggregate and mobilizing equipment for construction projects. In 1986 he went to work for Serres Corporation in Sonoma where he became involved with field operations. He obtained a Class A Contractors License in 1995 when he started R C eXcavating. Currently, Randy actively works on jobsites and shares the responsibilities of field operations with Tom Swegle.

Tom has been in construction since before he graduated high school. Born and raised in the Gualala area, Tom was a very active participant in a family business, Gualala Aggregates. In addition, Tom educated himself in business administration prior to going to work for Oak Grove Construction in 1996 where he was taught estimating and contract administration. Tom currently handles estimating and contract administration for RCX, as well as working in the field as much as possible.

Both Randy and Tom are extremely hard workers and are instrumental in general management of the company in addition to their field related duties. They are supported in the office by Gail Cochran, Randy’s wife. Gail met Randy at Serres Corporation, and after eight great years of working at Serres, Gail ended up working with Oak Grove Construction, which is where she met Tom. Gail has over twenty years experience in office administration, with over fifteen years experience in financial reporting. All her expertise is in the General Engineering construction field. Having managed and performed a multiple of other general construction related duties, Gail is quite well versed in her field.
